Bible Progress ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address - Used for account authentication and communication
- Display name - Shown to other participants in shared challenges
- Password - Securely hashed and stored by Firebase Authentication
Usage Data
We collect anonymized data to improve the app:
- Product interactions - Which features you use
- Crash reports - Technical data when the app encounters errors
- Device identifiers - Anonymous IDs for analytics purposes
Reading Progress
Your Bible reading progress and challenge participation is stored to provide the core functionality of the app.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Bible Progress service
- Enable shared challenges with friends and family
- Send account-related emails (verification, password reset)
- Analyze app performance and fix bugs
- Improve our features based on usage patterns
- Send product updates (only if you opt-in)
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google) - For authentication, data storage, analytics, and crash reporting
- MailerLite - Your email address and name are shared with MailerLite to send you transactional emails (welcome email, critical service announcements, security alerts) and, if you opt-in, product updates and news. You can opt-out of marketing emails anytime in Settings.
- Service providers - Only as necessary to operate the app
Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase/Firestore
- We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
Your Rights & Choices
Analytics & Crash Reporting
You can opt out of analytics and crash reporting at any time in Settings > Privacy Policy & Analytics.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Manage Account > Delete Account. When you delete your account:
- Your solo challenges and all associated progress are permanently deleted
- Your profile information is removed
- In shared challenges you own, ownership transfers to another participant (or the challenge is deleted if you're the only participant)
- In shared challenges you joined, your progress is preserved as "Deleted User" for challenge integrity
Email Communications
You can manage email preferences in Settings > Communication Preferences.
Data Access
Contact us at support@mybibleprogress.com to request a copy of your data.
Children's Privacy
Bible Progress is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
Third-Party Services
Our app uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics - Google Privacy Policy
- MailerLite (transactional and marketing emails) - MailerLite Privacy Policy
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
